Birth of baby Brady
Hospital birth | C-section | Dallas Presby

After six long years of struggling to have a baby, we knew we wanted to remember every special moment of that day. I had heard that birth rarely goes the way you think it will and due to complications, I not only needed a c-section, but I was also sedated during the birth that I had so longed to experience naturally. I woke up with no recollection of anything but going into the operating room and feeling pain as my epidural for the c-section failed. I will be forever grateful to Rebecca for documenting a moment that I would’ve given just about anything to be conscious for. Thanks to her wonderful pictures and videos, I was able to see the birth of my son as well as hear his first cries. That is something that I will be truly grateful for forever!

What is most important to you that I capture? Our faces as soon as we see him for the first time. We have waited 6 VERY long years for this moment, it is something that I want to be able to look back on for years to come.

What thoughts or feelings have come up during this pregnancy? Chris is a lot more relaxed that everything will be fine. I am more cautious. After 3 miscarriages, I am just trying to take it one day at a time and hope for the best. It's in God's hands, not mine, but I can't help but guard my heart after the journey that we were on. We've never made it this far, or anywhere close for that matter, and everything is looking great, so hopefully I will be able to relax soon. I think I will feel a lot better once I can feel him moving around in there :)

What are you most looking forward to about the arrival of your new baby? Oh my goodness, I haven't even let myself think about this. Just reading it made me tear up thinking that this really may finally happen for us! I just want to hold him and know that he is ok. I want to see Chris's face when he is born as well as the look on his face when he holds him for the first time. That is a memory that I can't wait to have.

Birth of baby Lucy
Birth center | Unmedicated Water Birth | Grapevine Birthing Center| Grapevine, Tx.

What is most important to you that I capture? The little moments. I loved what you captured with Max's birth and didn't feel like anything was missing.

What thoughts or feelings have come up during this pregnancy? It has been such a huge time of transition for us as a family. I wish that we had a better situation for our sweet one to come into but I cannot WAIT to meet her and get to know her. I know that God's hand is all over us in this season and even though it feels hard right now, I am trusting that He will cause all things to work for our good and that this will be a beautiful part of our story as we continue to grow as a family.

What are you most looking forward to about the arrival of your new baby?
Seeing her face for the first time. Snuggles and love and soft soft skin and late nights and diapers and coos. Taking it slow and being able to be present in every moment. I cannot wait for all the firsts that are ahead of us and the adventure of trust and faith that babies bring.
